Darhan Bektaban AlphaBet
Official Technical Specification & Standard
1. Introduction
The Darhan Bektaban Ailippe is a modern, Latin-based writing system designed specifically for the Kazakh language. It prioritizes phonetic accuracy and digital compatibility. The input method for this script is distinctively branded as the QAZ Keyboard Layout, named after the unique vertical alignment of the first column of keys.
2. The Alphabet Structure
The system is built on a precise count of characters to cover the full phonetic range of Kazakh without requiring complex diacritics (accents) that are hard to type.
- Total Core Letters: 21 Letters
- Digraphs (Two letters, one sound): 7 Digraphs
- Trigraphs (Three letters, one sound): 1 Trigraph
- Borrowed Letters (International): 5 Letters
3. The QAZ Input Standard
Unlike standard QWERTY layouts which are named horizontally, this layout derives its identity from the vertical axis.
- The Identifier: The layout is named “QAZ” based on the first vertical column on the left side.
- Design Philosophy: This naming convention symbolizes the vertical integration of the Darhan Bektaban script into modern computing.
